Bringing Life Back to the Old Fire Station

Since the official opening of The Community Station (formerly the Old Fire Station on Camp Road) in January, the place has been buzzing with activity. Our goal was to transform this historic site into a vibrant center for Whitehill and Bordon, and with your support, it already feels like home.

A new Home for Local Partners

We are excited to offer a permanent location for some local organizations that are already having a significant impact in our community and now have a stable base to work from.

  • Mercers Gym: Keeping our residents fit and active, supporting local Youth and schools.

  • Woolmer Forest Heritage Society. Preserving the rich history of our town.

  • Havant and East Hants Mind. Providing essential mental health support here in the GU35 area.

If you are a local charitable organisation and looking for a space to hire do get in touch!!

Our Community Groups

At the same time, we are creating an exciting series of recurring events at The Community Station, with additional offerings starting in May 2026. Although some of these events will be social gatherings, our aim is to also offer classes and support groups for residents dealing with dementia, stroke, or other debilitating illnesses, among others.

Our Station Chatter Group and Knit and Natter group gather weekly from 10am to 12pm to discuss local news, weekend events, or any other topics, including the latest book or TV thriller.

Every 2nd Saturday from 10am to 12pm, our Youth gather on the battlefield for the Whitehill Warhammer Group.

Every 3rd Saturday from 7pm to 11pm, board games are brought out and local challenges begin.

Woodland Update: Setting the Record Straight.

It was overgrown and littered with illegal dumping, so we couldn't refuse the generous offer from a local company to clear and remove any deadwood for us plus any rubbis they came across.

We want to be 100% clear regarding some questions:

  • No Building: We are NOT building on the woodland.

  • No Healthy Tree Removal: Healthy trees are staying exactly where they are.

  • Safety First: The only work being done is clearing dead wood or dangerous branches to ensure the area is safe for everyone to walk through and enjoy.

Our future plans are to make this a safe community area for Forest Schools and education.
